FAQ's

Elleste Solo tablets contain oestrogen only and may be taken continuously by women who have had a hysterectomy. In women with a uterus, a progestogen should be added for 12 - 14 days each cycle. You should see relief of menopausal symptoms within a few weeks of daily use.

Elleste Solo is a one-a-day tablet available in 1mg and 2mg strengths. Treatment should be initiated on 1mg and increased to 2mg if necessary. If you are still having regular periods, take your first tablet on the first day of bleeding. If you are not having regular periods, you can start straight away.

Most people begin to notice improvements from HRT within a few weeks, but this can vary depending on your symptoms, the type and dose of HRT prescribed, and how your body responds. Symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, sleep disturbance and mood changes often start to improve within 2–4 weeks, while benefits for energy levels, joint aches, vaginal dryness and brain fog may take 6–12 weeks to fully settle.

You’ll know HRT is working when symptoms become less frequent, less intense, or easier to manage, and your overall quality of life improves, for example, better sleep, more stable mood, improved focus, and feeling more like yourself again.

Abdominal pain, an increase in the size of leiomyoma (benign tumor of the womb), breast tenderness and enlargement, changes in sex drive, disturbed menstruation period (metrorrhagia), feeling sick, headache, irregular cycles, mood alterations including anxiety and depressed mood, oedema (swelling) of legs, rash and itching, uterine/vaginal bleeding including spotting, and weight changes.

HRT is not suitable for everyone and carries a number of risks. The following diseases are reported more often in women using HRT medicines which circulate in the blood compared to women not using HRT: Breast cancer, Abnormal growth or cancer of the lining of the womb (endometrial hyperplasia or cancer), Ovarian cancer, Blood clots in the veins of the legs or lungs (venous thromboembolism), Heart disease, Stroke, Probable memory loss if HRT is started over the age of 65.
