The Canesten Combi Pack is used to treat both the internal infection and external symptoms of vaginal thrush. The pessary (inserted into the vagina) treats the cause of the infection, while the external cream soothes itching, redness, and soreness around the outside.
Insert the pessary high into the vagina at bedtime using the provided applicator. Apply the external cream to the irritated skin around the vaginal area 2β3 times daily. Always wash your hands before and after use, and follow the full instructions on the pack for best results.
Many women feel relief from external symptoms like itching and irritation within a few hours. The internal infection usually clears in up to 7 days, although most notice improvement much sooner. If symptoms persist beyond 7 days, speak to our clinical team or see your GP.
Itβs best not to use the pessary during your period, as it may be less effective. If possible, wait until after your period has finished before starting treatment.
